Assembly binding issues

Errors such as [FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)]

This is typically caused by errors in your web.config file. Ensure that the XML tags are matched properly. Pay particular attention to the <assemblyBinding> section.

For example the following configuration is NOT correct because there are two <dependentAssembly> tags in a row.
